Move your records
- On the old device, review your records and create a current backup.
- Keep a separate accessible copy of the backup.
- Install Expense IQ on the new device.
- Use the intended Cloud Sync account or restore the correct backup, reading replacement prompts carefully.
- Compare account balances, recent transactions and bill reminders before retiring the old device.
Avoid entering new transactions separately on both devices while you are still deciding which copy to use. For Cloud Sync, confirm completion on the original device before expecting the new one to show those changes.
Check these common problems
- Missing transactions: check the account, dates, search and status filters.
- Different balances: compare opening balances, duplicates and both sides of transfers.
- Sync not updating: check Google identity, Premium access, Cloud Sync status and connection.
- Import looks wrong: inspect the file format, delimiter, decimal separator and target account before retrying.
- No reminder notification: check the bill’s lead time and Android notification permissions.
If the phone reports a time-related sync error, check its automatic date and time settings.
Get help with useful details
Email support@handyappsforlife.com with your app version, phone model, what you were doing and the exact error text. A screenshot can help; hide balances, names and other private details that are not needed.
Keep your existing records and backups while investigating. Do not send passwords or clear app storage simply to see whether a problem disappears.
