Choose the account and period

  1. Open Database Tools from the navigation menu and choose Export CSV or Export QIF.
  2. Select the account to export and the available date range options.
  3. For CSV, review the column-heading, decimal-separator and delimiter options.
  4. Complete the export and note where the app saved the file.
  5. Open the file and compare several transactions with the app.

If the export option is locked, check the upgrade information shown in your app. Availability can depend on your purchase or plan.

Check before sharing or importing elsewhere

Confirm the earliest and latest dates, a few amounts and the selected account. In a spreadsheet, make sure the columns have separated properly and dates have not been interpreted in the wrong order.

The file may contain payees, amounts and notes. Share only the period and account you intended. If a receiving program expects different fields, keep the original export and work on a copy.

Keep a full backup as well

A transaction export serves a different purpose from an Expense IQ backup. Do not assume that importing a CSV or QIF later will recreate all your app settings, reminders and other data.

For moving your complete records to a new phone, start with the backup or Cloud Sync instructions. Use export when you specifically want transaction data in another format.
