Add a widget
- Touch and hold an empty area of your Android home screen.
- Open your launcher’s Widgets list and find Expense IQ.
- Choose one of the available widget sizes or types and place it on the home screen.
- Complete any configuration shown, then try its main action.
Launcher controls vary between phones. The available Expense IQ widgets and access can depend on your installed app version and plan; check the app if an option asks for an upgrade.
Check the action and information
If you use a quick-entry widget, confirm the account, amount and category before saving the transaction it opens. Speed is useful only when the entry goes to the right place.
For a widget that displays financial information, compare it with the corresponding screen in the app. After changing accounts or restoring data, review any widget configuration rather than assuming it still points to the same choice.
Place it with privacy in mind
A widget is visible on your home screen. Choose its location and information with that in mind, especially if other people use your phone.
If a widget appears stale, open Expense IQ and check the underlying records first. Then review the widget’s configuration and your phone’s background restrictions. Removing a home-screen widget removes that shortcut; use care not to choose an uninstall or data-clearing action instead.
