Prepare your existing device
- Check that the accounts and recent transactions on the device are correct.
- Create a backup before changing your sync setup.
- Open Cloud Sync and use the intended Google account.
- Read the setup choices carefully, especially any choice that copies or replaces data.
- Wait for sync to complete and check its status before setting up another device.
If the cloud already contains records, decide which copy you mean to use before confirming an overwrite. Do not choose to replace your cloud records with the empty records on a new phone.
Check another device
Use the same Google account when linking another supported device. Once the records have loaded, compare a known account balance and a few recent transactions with the original device.
If changes are missing on another device, check that both devices use the same Google account, are connected to the internet and have finished syncing. Do this before entering the missing transactions again.
Keep backup and sync separate
Sync helps devices share changes; a dated backup gives you a separate recovery point. Keep useful backups even when syncing is working.
For web access, enable Cloud Sync on the Android device first, then follow the phone-approved QR sign-in flow. If sync is disabled or the device is unlinked, resolve that on the device before trying to sign in again.
