Use the statement details

Check the due date and amount on the card statement. Your recorded card balance may differ from the statement because newer purchases or payments fall outside its period. Use the bill you actually need to pay when setting the reminder.

Choose a clear description such as “Credit card — October statement”. A specific name makes it easier to distinguish this payment from purchases on the card.

Create the reminder

  1. Open Bill Reminders and tap the add button.
  2. Enter a recognizable description, the amount and due date.
  3. Review the account and transaction details for the payment you intend to record.
  4. Choose how many days before the due date to be reminded, then save.
  5. Check the bill in Upcoming Bills and allow Expense IQ notifications on your phone.

Expense IQ reminds you; make the payment through your bank or card provider. Choose a reminder lead time that fits how you normally pay.

After you pay

Record the payment once. If purchases are already recorded on your card account, paying from checking is a transfer to the card account, not another shopping expense.

When you use a bill’s payment action, review the resulting transaction before adding anything manually. Check the amount and date against the actual payment, and confirm that the reminder now has the expected status.
