Copy for a new transaction
- Find an entry similar to the one you want to record.
- Choose Copy Transaction from its actions.
- Check and update the amount, date, account, payee and category.
- Save, then confirm that the original and the new entry describe two separate events.
For example, last week’s bus fare may provide the right category and account for today’s trip. The copied date and amount still need chequing. Copying is not the same as setting up a repeating transaction.
Move an entry recorded in the wrong account
If you recorded a cash purchase against chequing by mistake, use Move Transaction when available and select the correct account. Afterwards, review both account balances and make sure there is only one purchase.
Move is not how you record an actual transfer of money. A withdrawal from chequing into your wallet needs a transfer between the two accounts, even if the amounts happen to match an expense.
When Move is unavailable
The Android app blocks Move Transaction for linked transfers and entries that belong to a split transaction. Review and edit those records using their transfer or split controls instead of moving one side or part.
Open the original transaction and use its supported editing controls. If the app refuses the change, keep the error message and details for troubleshooting instead of adding a duplicate to force the balance.
